Online TESL Pro 270 Diploma
Our online program is based on the same material as the full-time program, but is self-paced and the courses are delivered by email. The coursework for the online program takes about 6 to 8 months if it is done part-time, plus the practicum.
For online programs, students are responsible for finding their own practicum placement, however, VIA Training Centre will help students who experience trouble finding a suitable practicum location.

Practicum Requirements
All students who enroll in the VIA Online TESL Diploma Program must complete the practicum in order to be certified by TESL Canada. Every student must ensure that their sponsor teacher is TESL Canada certified.
*Note: Online TESL students are responsible for finding their own practicum location.
Textbook
This program requires How to Teach English, Jeremy Harmemer; Principles of Language Teaching, H. Douglas Brown; and Master Teachers: Compilation DVD. These materials will be sent by Canada Post.
Evaluation
Evaluation is based on attendance and participation, completed homework assignments, written examinations, class presentations and a submitted lesson plan. Students scoring 75% (cumulative) or better on the evaluation criteria qualify for both VIA TESL Diploma VIA On-Line TESL Diploma.
Grading criteria will be evaluated according to the following distribution of marks:

Transfer of Credits
The TESL Canada Level 1 Certificate is an internationally recognized certificate that can be applied to TESL Canada Level 2 or higher certificates based on the criteria of those level certificates. The VIA TESL Diploma Program does not have any university or college transfer credits.
Graduation Requirements
Students must achieve a minimum of B+ to graduate.
Attendance Policy
There is no attendance requirement for VIA Pro 120 Online TESL Program. This program is self-paced. The only requirement is that the program be completed in 1.5 years (18 months).
