TESL Pro 120 Online Diploma
Our Online TESL Diploma program is designed for individuals who do not live near an in-class program, are working and / or have a limited schedule, or just want to study at their own pace. This program consists of 10 short courses that must be completed in sequence.
After registering for this program, students are given the textbook and direct access to the program supervisor. The program consists of 10 courses. Each course has two files, a PDF file of readings to supplement the text book, and a Word file of questions and exercises. These files will be emailed by the program supervisor. The assignment (Word) file must be completed and returned to the program supervisor for marking and comments.
All exercises must be completed and submitted to the program supervisor before starting the next course. There are usually one or two components (chapters) for each course. There are ten courses and a practicum which must be successfully completed to graduate from this program.

Practicum Requirements
All students who enroll in the VIA Pro 120 TESL Diploma Program must complete the practicum in order to be certified by TESL Canada. Every student must ensure that their sponsor teacher meets TESL Canada requirements.
*Note: Online TESL students are responsible for finding their own practicum location.
Textbook
This program requires Teaching By Principles “An interactive Approach to Language Pedagogy” (3rd Edition), Dr. H. Douglas Brown ISBN-10: 0-13-612711-8. This textbook will be sent to you by Canada Post.
Evaluation
Evaluation is based on attendance and participation, completed homework assignments, written examinations, class presentations and a submitted lesson plan. Students scoring 75% (cumulative) or better on the evaluation criteria qualify for both VIA TESL Diploma VIA On-Line TESL Diploma.
Grading criteria will be evaluated according to the following distribution of marks:

Transfer of Credits
The TESL Canada Level 1 Certificate is an internationally recognized certificate that can be applied to TESL Canada Level 2 or higher certificates based on the criteria of those level certificates. The VIA TESL Diploma Program does not have any university or college transfer credits.
Graduation Requirements
Students must achieve a minimum of B+ to graduate.
Attendance Policy
There is no attendance requirement for VIA Pro 120 Online TESL Program. This program is self-paced. The only requirement is that the program be completed in one year.
