Fees & Policies
In order to register for the Full-time Program the student must pay the $200 non-refundable registration fee. The rest of the tuition fees of $1450 are due 2 weeks prior to the class start date. If the tuition is not received 2 weeks prior to the start date, the student may lose their place and forfeit their deposit.
In order to register and begin the Online Program the student must pay the full fees of $1650.00.

Appeals
Trainees are entitled to appeals. Appeals will be heard by the Board of Directors of VIA and decisions will be based on school polices and applicable laws. VIA will work in good faith to resolves all appeals in a fair and timely manner, however, if trainees are not satisfied with VIA appeal decisions then they have the option and right to request arbitration. VIA appeals do not inhibit trainee’s legal rights or access to legal advice or representation.
Trainee Rights
- Trainees are entitled to access to VIA facilities including, but not limited to, the computer lab, TESL library, and kitchen and lounge areas.
- In addition, Trainees are entitled to a safe and non-threatening environment, and are protected by VIA’s Definitions and Policies Regarding Behaviour guidelines which are available at the VIA front counter.
- Trainees are also entitles to private appointments with the TESL instructor and can arrange times directly with the instructor.
- Trainees have the same rights and privileges as all students at VIA as outlined by all local, provincial, and federal laws, as well as those defined by TESL Canada and the Private and Post-Secondary Education Commission.
Academic Dishonesty and Harassment
VIA’s TESL Program has an obligation to ensure academic integrity. All cases of cheating or plagiarism, and any variations thereof, will be immediately referred to the Programs Coordinator. Students who participate in any form of cheating and/or plagiarism may be required to withdraw from the VIA TESL Program. Students are expected to carefully review the following points discussing academic integrity and group projects that have been adopted by the VIA TESL Program.
Acts of academic dishonesty include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Using the exact words of a published or unpublished author without quotation marks and without referencing the source of these words
- Duplicating a table, graph or diagram, in whole or in part, without referencing the source
- Paraphrasing the conceptual framework, research design, interpretation, or any other ideas of another person, whether written or verbal (e.g. personal communication, ideas from a verbal presentation) without referencing the source.
- Copying the answers of another student in any test, examination, or take-home assignment.
- Providing answers to another student in any test, examination, or take-home assignment.
- Taking any unauthorized materials into an examination or term test.
- Impersonating another student or allowing another person to impersonate oneself for the purpose of submitting academic work or writing any test or examination.
- Stealing or mutilating library materials.
- Accessing test prior to the time and date of the sitting.
- Changing name or answer(s) on a test after that test has been graded and returned
- Submitting the same paper or portions thereof for more than one assignment, without discussions with the instructor(s) involved.
