TESL Pro 1 Diploma Program

Graduates of the VIA TESL Diploma Program will be able to apply Communicative Language Teaching, learned principles, theories, strategies, and practical classroom techniques and implement them successfully in effective ESL lessons.

The VIA TESL Diploma Program is designed for people wishing to pursue a career in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to non-native speakers around the world. The “Communicative Approach” is incorporated into this practical, hands-on teaching program. The program consists of 100 classroom and 20 practicum hours, giving students a comprehensive understanding of various ESL teaching theories and methodologies. Classes are comprised of lectures and demonstrations on topics such as the integration of listening, speaking, reading, writing, pronunciation skills, lesson planning, and classroom management. The VIA TESL Program uses the “Communicative Approach” to train teachers in Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) with the goal of providing graduates with the confidence and ability to instruct students of all nationalities around the world.

TESL Canada Certification

All graduates of the VIA Pro 1 TESL Diploma Program are eligible for the TESL Canada Professional Standard Level 1 Certificate.

All graduates of the VIA Pro 1 Online TESL Diploma Program are eligible for the TESL Canada Professional Standard Level 1Certificate.

Note: One of the criteria for this certificate is a university degree. A university degree is not required to take these programs.
