The VIA Online TESL Certificate Program

Thank you for your interest in the VIA Online TESL Program.

*The Online Program has received tentative TESL Canada approval pending revisions. *
We hope this program will recognized by TESL Canada within the next few weeks.

The program will consist of 10 short courses that must be registered for, and completed in, sequence. Each course can be registered and paid for separately, however, all 10 courses must be completed to graduate.  

All students who enroll in the VIA Online TESL Diploma Program must complete the practicum in order to be certified by TESL Canada. Every student must ensure that their sponsor teacher(s) are TESL Canada - certified. We will provide a list of TESL Canada - recognized schools where the practicum can be completed. We will also provide a form to ensure the sponsor teacher is certified by TESL Canada. If there is not a suitable location to complete your practicum in your area, we encourage you to do your practicum at VIA Training Centre.

After registering for this program, students are given the textbook and direct access to the program supervisor. The program supervisor will send you assignments, mark completed assignments and return them with grades and commments, and send you supplementary manterial. All exercises must be completed and submitted to the program supervisor before starting the next component. There are usually one or two components (chapters) for each course. There are ten courses and a practicum which need to be successfully completed to graduate from this program.

Note: The registration, materials, and tuition fee for Course OL 1 must be paid before access to the Online Website will be granted. Tuition fees for subsequent courses can be paid separately, but before access to the respective course is granted.
